Rest Day

Today is a Rest Day. There is no new Bible reading to do. Today, the goal is simple: rest in the presence of God. Maybe you need to use today to get caught up on the reading plan if you’re behind, maybe you want to journal what you’re learning so you don’t forget what God is teaching you, or maybe you want to spend time in concentrated prayer–do that. Above all, just spend time in God’s presence. Each Rest Day, we will also introduce a memory verse for the week. Meditate on this week’s verse and begin to memorize it.

Memory Verse

I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.

Psalm 121:1-2

Memorization Tip

Who says Scripture memorization has to be boring? Make it a game! Write the verse out on notecards, a different word for each card. Then, shuffle them around and place them back in the correct order from memory.

  1. We very recently joined HC. About the same time my grandson passed away unexpectedly in Washington state. We flew to WA to be with family, and are still here.

This morning I received HC weekly update. It is so nice to still be connected, even from such a distance. Before we left Texas Ann Whidby emailed me and encouraged me with kind words, and assured me they would be praying for us. It it wonderful to have new acquaintances reach out to us during the time of such tragedy. We haven’t felt so much love from a church in a very long time. We are so thankful for God’s people praying for us & our family. And we are so grateful for HC!

    Blessings to you all,

    Bonnie (& Bruce) Edenfield
