Rest Day
Each Sunday is a Rest Day. There is no new Bible reading to do. Today, the goal is simple: rest in the presence of God. Maybe you need to use today to get caught up on the reading plan if you’re behind, maybe you want to journal what you’re learning so you don’t forget what God is teaching you, or maybe you want to spend time in concentrated prayer–do that. Above all, just spend time in God’s presence.
Each Rest Day, we will have an additional element to help you dig deeper. Sometimes it will be extra resources to further your study, a video to watch, or a podcast to listen to. Sometimes we’ll have a verse to commit to memorize to help you hide God’s Word in your heart.
Keep Digging

Refelction Guide
As you reflect on Psalms 130-135 this week, ask yourself the following questions:
- Which psalm resonated with you most this week? Why?
- What did this week’s readings teach you about God?
- What did this week’s reading teach you about humanity (and yourself)?

Psalm 131 resonated with me especially v1-2 where true contentment is found in humility and leaving all of life’s uncertainties in the capable hands of God. As an act of worship I can “calm and quiet myself” as his child depending fully upon him.
Yes!
Psalm 130:6 I wait for the Lord more than watchman wait for morning, more than watchman wait for the morning.
I found it interesting that the author repeated himself on the importance of waiting for the Lord. It could also serve two purposes of waiting.
First, in the OT they were waiting for the Messiah.
Second, now that Jesus has come, we wait for his second coming.
I need to be more steadfast in my waiting.
Me too!
For me this past week, I’ve been meditating on Psalm 130 about waiting.
V 5 I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, And in His word I do hope.
I don’t like waiting for anything, but wait I must!
