Rest Day
Each Sunday is a Rest Day. There is no new Bible reading to do. Today, the goal is simple: rest in the presence of God. Maybe you need to use today to get caught up on the reading plan if you’re behind, maybe you want to journal what you’re learning so you don’t forget what God is teaching you, or maybe you want to spend time in concentrated prayer–do that. Above all, just spend time in God’s presence.
Each Rest Day, we will have an additional element to help you dig deeper. Sometimes it will be extra resources to further your study, a video to watch, or a podcast to listen to. Sometimes we’ll have a verse to commit to memorize to help you hide God’s Word in your heart.
Keep Digging

Refelction Guide
As you reflect on Psalms 117-119 (Parts 1-4) this week, ask yourself the following questions:
- Which psalm resonated with you most this week? Why?
- What did this week’s readings teach you about God?
- What did this week’s reading teach you about humanity (and yourself)?

A verse that stuck with me this week was Psalm 119:37 “Turn my eyes from looking at worthless things; preserve my life according to your word.
I usually paid attention to the first part as life is full of worthless distractions. Then today I noticed the second part about preserving my life according to God’s word.
That made me think of how they needed to salt meat to keep it preserved. Chat GPT helped me understand how to salt meet today:
Cover the meat completely.
* Rub salt into every surface, paying special attention to seams and crevices.
* Place a layer of salt in the bottom of a non-reactive container (glass, ceramic, or food-grade plastic).
* Lay the meat on the salt and completely bury it with more salt.
Imagine if we let God’s word be the “salt” in our life. That truly would preserve our life for him.
Praise God!
This is a great illustration. Thank you for sharing.
Amen!
Thanks for breaking down Psalm 119 into multiple parts!
Been meditating on verse 105 this week . . .
“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”
I need His Word to make it through a dark and uncertain world!
